i see the weird “cordyceps” thing and the general salesperson pitch abt what it does but apart from being cheesy it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary???
cordyceps is a fungus that got famous for hijacking insects (specifically, ants) brains, making them climb a high spot, clamp their jaws down on it and then die as the fruiting boy of the fungus bursts out of their bodies.
it’s therefore sometimes called ‘zombie fungus’ and loosely inspires the zombie things in The Last Of Us
