Hey mom! I have a question for you. How much do you charge people for editing their work. I have a friend thats writing his first novel, its gone through the first and second drafts already. I beta read it and helped with what little editing i can do (my grammar knowledge is terrible). Anyways, his book is a really good blend of scifi and fantasy and has interesting takes on classic fantasy species. He says hed want it to be edited in 10k chunks, its around 70k in its entirety.

Hey fam thanks for asking! My rates are something I outline in detail on my Editing Services page, but the quick low down is:

$25per hour for anything under 10k words, and $50ph thereafter.

There is
a flat rate $50 reading fee for anything over 10k ($100 for anything
over 100k). Student rates are available, and payment plans are also an
option we can discuss during consultation. I will also do a sample edit (usually between 1-2k words, to make sure we’re a good working fit together.)
