I’ve been thinking of Alkrenon’s reaction when he returns to Draenor and one of the first things he would do is eat the food. Taste and smell are some of the strongest memory retainers, so I can imagine how happy and nostalgic he would feel when he bites into a small juicy berry-like food and there’s that relief of “Yes, it’s the same, I know this, this is familiar”

I know how hard it is to leave what was once your home I did not adjust well when I moved from Spain to the United States, and going back to Spain was something I looked forward to. I always missed the food the most; paella, empanadillas, croquetas, cocido and fabada… Foods that was generally only found in your home country. Sure, you could make a knock-off version very similar to the original, but it wasn’t the same. and it wasn’t just the the types of foods or the ingredients, it was the being with family while having these huge meals and being together.

For me, food was the thing that most reminded me of home. Food is home.
