Mushroom Dragons are curious little detritivores with a variety of natural and magical properties depending on variety. They have unique and distinct personalities, and can range from completely benevolent to outright malicious.
These little guys are available on a variety of products at my Society6 store here. If there’s interest, I’d be happy to put them up as stickers on my Redbubble store also.
Wouldn’t this be an interesting creature to have in game?
“Conceptually speaking, Venom is a collection of monster erotica tropes. He’s ravenously hungry but can be tamed by the right person. He penetrates and envelopes his victims’ bodies, tempting them to do dark things. He’s a walking vore fetish with a giant, slurping tongue. He’s super-strong and likes to pick people up with his tentacles. Basically, if he didn’t star in a family-friendly Marvel superhero comic, he’d probably find steady work in hentai porn.”
“More prosaically, it’s amazing how often the comics strip Eddie Brock naked for no good reason and have him grapple around with the symbiote’s tendrils.”
… So, the movie is Pride & Prejudice for xenophiles, but the comics are more Women in Love for xenophiles.
I’m not suggesting fandom should consider vignettes of classic literature with one character replaced by Venom. More that the BBC could spice up their next wave of lit adaptations by… adding Venom.
nope, that’s the underlying shell structure! unlike the more familiar hardshell turtles, shoftshell turtles don’t have a solid shell. most of their carapace is actually soft tissue! this gives them a much lower defense than hardshell turtles like box turtles or even pond turtles, but it also makes softshells INCREDIBLY fast and agile. like, faster than some fish!
to pull this incredible speed feat off, their base shell structure consists of a minimal flat bony plate with “ribs” sticking out from the side that help support the leathery soft tissue that makes up their slippery soft carapace.
and because their shell is mostly soft tissue, you can often see the outlines of this bony support right through it! that’s the “ribs” you saw. pretty neat, huh?
