Emotion Dragons
These species of dragons have a unique hoarding process which relies on causing and then gathering specific mind states of mortals which they draw strength and identity from. Smaller dragons may be fought off by a single individual, but young wyrms can quickly grow if given a reliable food source and will soon require a multitude of individuals to fend it off. Although some dragons have been determined ‘good’ and others ‘evil, it should be noted due to their nature, all emotion dragons are considered ‘dangerous, as it is just as likely to fall into a high of emotional bliss from a joyful dragon as it is to fall into a state of lull from a depression dragon. Both alien and intimate, this species of dragon has been a source of both the growth and destruction of mortal kind.
I wanted to take an angle on dragons that kept both their intimate and alien nature that I find so often in their lore. From a mechanic view I think it would be interesting to have players confront dragons with the risk of falling into a particular mind state, ie a state of anxiety from an anxiety dragon. On a personal note, I have always viewed my extreme states of mind, good or bad, as my dragons, which was the initial inspiration, I hope to continue to explore this concept.
Anxiety Dragon notes: open heart cage, rapid twitch movements, large tongue making it difficult to speak, painful head spikes, , unfocued eyes.
Depression Dragon, huge heave horns, lolling long body, deadened eyes, slow, soft, almost pleasant voice,
Creative dragons, multiple eyes/limbs working independently, growths of new plants constantly blooming and dying, abstract speech, easliy distracted.
I’M NOT DEAD. Finally finished a trade! Kinda like how it turned out, actually!
