I want Taako to push passed someone and say “move I’m gay” only for them to lecture him on why he shouldn’t do that and “what would Kravitz say if he heard-?” And then Kravitz pushes by them midsentence and says “move I’m gay”

it’s been seven months and i’m still reeling over the fact that griffin tyler andrew patrick mcelroy signified taako and kravitz’s happy ending by having their love literally restart kravitz’s long-dead heart

there’s just. i could go on about the beauty of the happy endings in s&s.

magnus’s is, i think we can all agree, the most emotionally moving. he trains dogs in the town he saved, the town where he finally became his best self after a hundred years, still trying to pay it back for the good it did. he’s at his best friend’s wedding and gives her a beautiful speech about how her marriage means she’ll never be alone again — and years later, he dies and is reunited with the love of his life. it was all magnus ever wanted, and it was the ending he earned.

for merle, we see his relationship with his children rebuilt, with them considering him a hero and going on adventures as a family while merle works as a civic leader and camp counselor. this isn’t just honorary or simply because his story was broadcast – he fought for it, taking on the responsibilities he had shunned and learning to care again. he is redeemed and beloved, becoming the antithesis of every negative trait he displayed at the beginning of his journey. that is the ending he earned.

taako’s has the most to dissect, in my opinion. he spent most of the story shrouded in distrust and isolation, but in this final scene, he’s surrounded by love. there’s so much he gains – a scene where he laughs with his sister, together again; he’s started a school with his new and beloved friend, throwing off the betrayal of his last partner; and he is thanked by angus while not-so-subtly begging him to leave lucas’s school for his own. all of these developments are shown through taako’s own actions and words, but then griffin swoops in at the very end to toss in one last reward. taako loves and is loved. these people aren’t dust. they’re here and they’re real and they care. and to prove that? griffin rekindles kravitz’s life with this love, and all he has to say is “kravitz reaches down and takes your hand in his, and it’s warm.” it’s short, and it’s sweet, and it’s the ending he earned.

11-22-17 || Huevember Day 22

Barry squeezed her again… and he cleared his throat. This caused Lup’s ears to perk, her attention to divert more fully to him.

He separated them from the couch, and suddenly all eyes in the room were on him. The air had changed, and Barry looked surprisingly serious… as he knelt down in front of her.

Lup’s hands flew up to her mouth.

“So… lemme take another pass at this,” Barry still wore a wobbly smile, and he pulled from his pocket a very worn, very old looking velvet box… a familiar box.
