acehet:

my issue with people pissing all over QPRs and claiming they’re “just friendships” is that they tend to be people who DON’T experience or understand alterous attraction at all, because it’s an incredibly heavy aromantic experience.

there’s is a difference between platonic (friendship) and romantic feelings, and while these emotions can be confused with each other at times, it’s generally accepted that these are two different types of feelings. and alterous feelings is another feeling that not everyone feels, but holds a different weight to it than platonic and romantic attraction.

people having a name for this type of attraction and relationships encompassing it, which is a feeling i struggle to describe due to my own lack of vocabulary, isn’t “cringey” or “lmfao do ya’ll not have friends?”. it’s (mostly) aromantic people coming up with vocabulary to describe our experiences and relationships.

anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk and also stop shitting on aromantic terminology. ✌
