A magic item for Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition.
Wondrous item, uncommon (requires attunement) While attuned to this hat, you can spend 1 hour building a snowman. The time you must spend is halved for each creature that helps you build the snowman, to a minimum of 15 minutes. You must have access to snow, two sticks, a broom, a carrot, a corncob pipe, one button, and two lumps of coal with which to build it. Once built, you can place the hat on its head to awaken the snowman. This effect lasts until the hat is removed, which causes the snowman to revert to its inanimate form. Curse. This hat is cursed, and becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. Each time you awaken a snowman, there is a cumulative 25 percent chance that the snowman will immediately begin to dance and sing a song in Draconic. This song heralds the coming of “the Snow Miser”. When the snowman finishes its third consecutive turn of the dance, an ancient white dragon appears in an unoccupied spot within 30 feet of it and demands you return its hat. If you refuse, the dragon attacks you and anyone who helped build the snowman for as long as you remain cursed. The curse is broken only once the dragon dies or the hat is returned. Upon the hat’s return, the dragon places it on the snowman’s head, the snowman mounts the dragon, and they fly off together back to the dragon’s lair.
