artifactseeker-myr99:

Hey folks.

First of all: sorry for spamming your tags…

I am new – like, really new – to paganism but I do know that I believe in a pantheon and definitely am eclectic in that because I think every deity/nature-spirit exists in some form or the other.

No offence, I know it could be taken as such but I really mean no disrespect! To each their own and in my opinion every belief is legit (except you disregard someone else or use your believes against someone)

So, yea, I am pretty new and still learning (about deities, practices, season festives, ways of worship, altars, etc.) and I wanna learn before I decide on deities to worship.

But I do believe…

And my question now is: do I need to already know which deities I worship to pray/make offerings/dedicate tasks?

I pretty much pray “to any deity/spirit who listens”

And dedicate tasks (cleaning stuff, baking/cooking something or even just braiding my hair) by focusing on the thought of deities/spirits in general.

I learned altars can be a form of shrine dedicated to a deity (among other options). So like, can I build an altar that grows with my spiritual journey?

Footnote: I am not so much interested in witchcraft, mostly eclectic paganism.

And yes, I have lists with books I want to get to learn more about specific pantheons but if you have any book where you say “someone learning about [certain deity/branch of paganism] has to read this!”

PLEASE go ahead and give me book titles! I am the person to prefer books over online resources! Especially if the book was already recommended and you second the recommendation!

@systlin you’re the best source for this sort of info imo
