You know, i can’t believe you’re actually buying that last post you reblogged about the queer word. I mean forget the argument itself, the way OP writes just rang all my *malignant narcissist* bells. “I was part of a groundswell of lobbying and direct action in the 1990s…” Were you now huh? Then she reduces her opponents to an anonymous dumb teenager… Convenient. I was curious so i checked her bio on her blog… yeah, nope, gonna trust my instincts here and stay the fuck away from that person lol

????? Okay? Congratulations? I’m sorry you take issue with their tone, but you really can’t see that if their claims are true (and if they are, then they ABSOLUTELY have a right to establish their credentials) where their frustration would be coming from? You can’t just “argument aside” when that’s the point of the post in the first place.

And yeah of course I’m “buying it”, I’ve had similar experiences myself; LGBTQ activism is so much different in real life, in politics, in communities, in academia than it is in echo chambers like Tumblr, where, yeah sorry, in my experience, the most easily radicalized and turned into the conservative type of activist obsessed with maintaining idealogical purity above all else tend to be kids. I’m 25 dude, I’ve been there too: it’s not a knock on being young, it’s just reality. Teens haven’t built up that experience yet.

You can disagree with with them and/or me, that’s not my business, but what is it that compels you you dismiss their position just because of their tone and then come to me personally about it? If you wanna have a discussion about the content, then let’s have a discussion about the content, not whether or not this person I don’t know seems like a narcissist.

And as someone that’s been following Asynca for a while this anon is completely wrong? Narcissistic? Seriously? Christ.

Asy is from Australia which has had a similar but also different movement on the queer community and they way its been described is that the work queer doesn’t have the same connotation anymore there. It’s been reclaimed. That’s it. That’s why there are queer studies and such.

Additionally. Having followed Asy, I have seen teenagers attack her for the use of the word like they know more than she does. And when she explains her position and goes on about her experience…. I’ve seen the pedo card pulled.

So, anon…. Chill my dude. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
