@keyhollow a danger noodle
A good boy
I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR HOW BIG HE WAS
mimic.
I love how beautiful this snake is, and I understand the owner has had him for 16 years for for fuck’s sake this is not how you handle a hot snake, especially one with fangs and venom still.
All it takes is one bite. One mess up.
Just one.
I’ve had my BP for almost 10 years now, i think, and he’s still tagged me.
All it takes is once with a hot snake.
This is so irresponsible.
@thisacelovesheadcanons he’s a very well respected keeper and conservationist. Keeping vemomous reptiles is no greater threat than keeping other domesticated reptiles – so long as you respect them. Oracle is a wonderful cobra and has never shown defensive behaviour! They have a mutual understanding between the two, as is common between reptiles and keepers.
So hey, I love snakes too, right? I have three of the little boogers myself. But hot snakes are dangerous. Period. There need to be more than just this nebulous term of “respect” when dealing with a hot. You need to be cautious and you should never freehand them. There’s no such thing as “mutual understanding.”
All it takes is one mistake.
@wheremyscalesslither @kaijutegu @i-m-snek you guys have more experience here, help me out?
