please.

That is the exact spot my parents found a stray kitten. Nice little addition to the family, but would have been a terrible addition to the pavement had she not been very vocal OTL

No joke, the place where that cat is resting in this picture is called a “dead cat hole” it’s an automotive term.  Don’t believe me, look it up.

This is also where I found a stray cat, she was up in there during a thunderstorm and I begged my dad to let me being her inside and that’s the story of how I got my first cat.

Please don’t skip over this without reading it and making a mental note. Even if you don’t have a car, tell your parents or whoever, and make sure to do this. You think that’ll never happen but that’s what everyone thought who had this happen and didn’t check, and that poor cold cat met with a terribly sad end.

REBLOG WHETHER YOU LIKE CATS OR NOT

Saying that the corkscrewing, head wobbling, and general lack of coordination in spider ball pythons is cute is basically the equivalent of saying that adhd or down syndrome is cute.

Sure, people with mental disorders can still live normal lives, but that doesn’t mean that they’re 100% healthy, and that also doesn’t mean that we want more people with mental disorders.

welp as someone w adhd i wasn’t gonna just. scroll past this,

hey my guy? this is SUPER ableist. and like. i kinda see the point you were reaching for? you missed. bc. the shit you said after is super fucked up. and honestly, not even equatable.

we have a mutation that like the wobble affects the development of the neural crest, known as Hirschsprung Disease. in fact, i’d go so far as to say it behaves near identically, when tested in mice:

(link)

so let’s break down why ADHD and Down Syndrome are NOT good wobble comparison candidates.

ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is pretty much it’s name; people with it struggle to focus, produce exuberant amounts of energy, struggle in school due to it, and has frequently been compared to Autism due to their symptom similarities, and they even frequently appear together. But this is a mental disorder, not the lack of neural development. people with ADHD aren’t lacking anything- and we are, in fact 100% healthy. While ADHD is hereditary and can run genetically, as does the wobble, it is NOT lethal when paired together. it also varies in severity from case to case, but physically, a person with ADHD is as physically capable as anyone else, unaffected by their disorder. so, we leave the mental disorder (i.e. not a lack of development of important parts of the brain, they have a damn brain) under our NOT EQUATABLE list.

as for Down’s Syndrome, we have a nonstarter. Downs is NOT GENETIC. It’s a random, inheritable mutation that can occur to anyone or anything, as we’ve seen it occur in animals. Downs Sydnrome is the lack of development of the 21st chromosome, which manipulates their physical appearance and can lead to heart defects, muscle weakness, and a few other traits, but their mental affect is mild to moderate, at most. People with Downs are perfectly, perfectly capable of being completely healthy, and they cannot pass on or receive their genes from a parent, so their children will not die in utero, as a wobble to wobble would. while again cases do vary, people with Downs are not due to lack of neural crest development, but a chromosomal abnormality, which is NOT what occurs in the wobble. so, scratch this one too.

tl;dr: get that ableist nonsense out of the ball python tag. i 100% disagree with breeding wobblers but this argument is NOT it, dude. people with ADHD and Downs are 100% healthy and not remotely equatable to the Wobble in ball pythons.

As an ADHD person also on the spectrum, thank you for this reply @tailsandco

Thank you

Just gonna reblog this out of gratitude because I actually did forget…

Fffffffff let me get right on that.

and then reblog for the next forgetful son of a bitch

I’m so great full for everyone that is reblogging this. I totally forgot to take mine

I think that there is some sort of unspoken fairy godparent thing where you see this, realize that you forgot your meds, and rebagel it because if you forgot someone else must have. And in our turn we all take care of each other, even if we don’t know it.

ooops

[Caption; A cartoon pill bottle on a white background sits below the words: “Did you remember to take your meds today?”]

Please take care

I just took mine!
